ACR-401 is a high-performance PVC processing aid and impact modifier specifically engineered for PVC profile extrusion. As a multifunctional PVC processing additive, it combines processing assistance with impact modification in a single product. Based on an acrylic copolymer formulation comprising styrene, methyl methacrylate, and butyl acrylate, ACR-401 promotes PVC plasticization while significantly enhancing toughness and impact resistance of finished profiles.
Product Principle:
When incorporated into PVC formulations, ACR-401 functions through two complementary mechanisms. As a processing aid, its high molecular weight acrylic polymer chains interpenetrate with PVC resin, accelerating fusion and gelation under heat and shear. As an impact modifier, the butyl acrylate component forms discrete rubbery domains within the PVC matrix that absorb and dissipate impact energy, preventing crack propagation. The balanced copolymer composition ensures optimal compatibility with PVC while providing desired mechanical enhancement.
Performance Characteristics:
This advanced PVC processing additive exhibits exceptional capability in lowering plasticization temperature and time, enabling energy-efficient profile extrusion. The carefully balanced composition provides optimal rheological modification while ensuring excellent dispersibility. With fugitive constituent ≤2% and fineness ≥98% through 40 mesh, ACR-401 guarantees consistent performance. It significantly enhances melt strength and elasticity, reducing die swell and improving dimensional stability while enhancing surface gloss.
Usage and Dosage:
Recommended addition level is 1%–5% based on total formulation weight, depending on profile requirements and processing conditions. Preliminary trials advised for optimal performance.

1. Dual Functionality: Processing Aid and Impact Modifier:
Combines both benefits in one product, simplifying formulation and reducing inventory costs while ensuring perfect compatibility between functions.
2. Reduced Plasticizing Temperature and Time:
As an efficient PVC processing aid, ACR-401 accelerates fusion, enabling lower processing temperatures, shorter cycle times, energy savings, and reduced thermal degradation risk.
3. Superior Impact Resistance Enhancement:
Butyl acrylate component forms optimized rubbery domains that effectively absorb impact energy, dramatically improving toughness especially at low temperatures.
4. Excellent Melt Strength and Dimensional Stability:
Enhanced melt strength reduces die swell and sagging during extrusion, ensuring precise profile dimensions and consistent wall thickness for complex geometries.
5. Superior Surface Quality and Gloss:
Eliminates melt fracture and improves flow characteristics, resulting in smooth, glossy surfaces that may eliminate secondary finishing operations.
6. Broad Formulation Compatibility:
Compatible with various PVC formulations including those containing fillers, stabilizers, and other additives, making it versatile for different profile applications.
